Manu Ginobili, full name “Emanuel David Ginóbili” was born on 28th of July 1977. His birth place was Bahia Blanca in Argentina respectively. Referring to the family background, his whole family consists of basketball players. His two brothers Leandro and Sebastian were great players where Leandro was his eldest brother and his father Jorge was a respective coach at a club located in Bahia Blanca. However, all of them were an inspiration to his career, as his both elder brothers were great players of their respective times. As a result all of them gave rise to his love for basketball.

Manu Ginobili Career

Manu Ginobili started his professional career in “Argentina basketball league” with “Adino Sport Club” located in “La Rioja”. Hence, starting his career during the 1995-1996 season. Therefore he played with the team for 4 years hence, from 1995-1998.

He shifted to Europe and then spent a time span of three years i.e 1998-2000, hence teaming up with the Italian team “ Basket Viola Reggio Calabria” for playing two seasons. However teaming up with Bren Scott and two others earned him a better place from second to first division.

In 2001, he returned to Italy for playing for “Kinder Bologna”, therefore contributed for winning the 2001 Italian League Championship. Therefore, he was named the “Italian League MVP” for 2001-2002. 

For 2002-2003 , he thus joined Spurs for playing backup for Steve Smith(the Veteran Guard). However, he won Rookie of the month during the Western Conference held in March. During the 2003-2004 season Spurs continuously featured Ginobili, as his statistics  improved in majority categories.

He had some issues with San Antonio related to his contract, after his issues being resolved he resigned with the Spurs during 2004-2005 for the former season. He played a major role for winning San Antonio’s third championship. However, during the season he won consecutive “ Olimpias de Oro” collectively being declared the fourth person to claim the particular award.

During 2005-2006 season, he suffered a couple of ankle as well as foot injuries. However other seasons also followed with the same time span .Therefore, he announced his retirement on 27th August in 2018, however professionally being retired on 28th of March in 2019 by the Spurs

Manu Ginobili Personal Life:

Manu Ginobili thus comes from a family of basketball players. His eldest brother Leandro played for 7 years in the “American Basketball League” and his brother Sebastian played in both “Argentina Local League” and also the “Spanish 2nd-tier level Liga Española de Baloncesto”. His father Jorge used to be a coach at “Bahia Blanca” located in Argentina, where he also trained his son Ginobili, hence making him a great player of his era. 

He thus possesses citizenship for both Argentina and Italy, hence making him possess a dual-citizen ship.

He married “Argentine Marianela Oroño” in 2004, giving birth to twin boys “ Dante and Nicola” in 2010 and in 2014 third son Luca was born.
