Georges Niang

Georges Niang is an American-Senegalese basketball player, born in Lawrence, Massachusetts and he belongs to the white ethnicity. He is a power forward, playing for the Utah Jazz of NBA.

His career achievements include First-team All NBA G League title, Karl Malone Award, MVP of Big 12 Tournament title and also All-rookie team.

Family

Georges is a son of Sidy Niang and Alison Niang but they got separated when he was 5-years old and then his father went to the U.S. Merchant Marine.

He is the only child of his parents and when they got separated, he lived with his mom and sometimes he used to meet his father who was working in the Navy.

As far as his love life is concerned, then he has nothing revealed to the public. His relationship status is single and currently, he is focusing on his career.

Education

Georges attended Tilton High School which is a recognized institute of the New Hampshire. After completing his school, he got enrolled at Iowa State University which is famous for its alumni and many famous players and famed celebrities have graduated from there.

He completed his graduation from Iowa State in 2016 and made his career path towards basketball.

Career

In his high school career, he was appointed as a captain of the team and he completed his schooling with the title of the greatest player of school history.

He scored more than 2300 points in his school career and was named All-NEPSAC Class AA honors multiple times. Also, he was entitled to the NEPSAC Class AA Player of the Year award.

His best performance didn’t save his team from defeat in National Prep Championship from Notre Dame Prep where he scored 31 points in the game.

During his senior season, he played with an average of 25.1 points and 7.2 rebounds each game. His BABC team won the Nike Peach Jam Tournament title in 2011 and he was named the most competitive player of AAU tournaments in the State.

He played basketball for Iowa State and he was named Big 12 All-Rookie Team during his freshman season.

Georges crossed the 2,000-point mark during his senior season, with an average of 20.5 points and 6.2 rebounds each game which makes him win the Naismith College Player of the Year award.

Georges was picked by the Indiana Pacers in NBA draft 2016. He debuted from the franchise in NBA Summer League and signed his first rookie contract with the Pacers.

The next season, he was waived by the Pacers and was subsequently signed by the Golden State Warriors and he was waived by the Warriors after playing a few games.

So, he made his commitment to Santa Cruz Warriors as a back-up player. After getting waived by the Cruz he signed a multiple-contract with the Utah Jazz and their NBA G-League team; the Salt Lake City Stars.

Georges signed a 3-year contract with the Jazz in 2019 worth $4,975,012. His total earnings are mainly from his NBA career and are above $23 million.
