Garrett Temple

Garrett Bartholomew Temple is an American basketball player who was born in the city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He belongs to a Christian family and has a black ethnic background. He is a shooting guard/small forward for the Brooklyn Nets of the NBA.

His greatest achievements include NBA D-League All-Star honors, Second-team All-SEC award, SEC All-Defensive Team honors and various other titles.

Collis Temple and Soundra Johnson Temple are the proud parents of Garrett. He has two elder brothers Collis III who was also a basketball player at Louisiana University and a second brother named Elliott Temple and also one younger sister named Colleen Noelle.

His father is a former player of NBA who debuted from the Phoenix Suns in 1974 and he has also played for the San Antonio Spurs. But, he moved to play European League and left NBA.

When not playing matches, Garrett hangs-out with his longtime girlfriend named Kára Deidra McCullough who is also a social media sensation. She won Miss USA beauty pageant title in 2017 and also Miss District of Columbia in 2017.

Garrett played basketball at LSU Laboratory School. Playing as a senior, he was recorded averaging 13.9 points with 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists and made his team win Class 2A state-level championship in 2004.

At Louisiana State University, Garrett made a good repute of being a defensive stopper. He averaged decently to 5.1 points with 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 steals each game. During his sophomore season, he was named in the top 10 best players in SEC. Garrett participated in the Reach USA Tour of China from LSU, he averaged 8.6 points and 4.3 assists with grabbing 1.6 steals each game during the season.

His junior and senior seasons were also quite satisfying and he was named All-SEC Defensive team and also the All-SEC second team. In his 38 games, he had an average of 7.1 points and 4.5 points for rebounds each game.

Garrett remained undrafted in NBA draft 2009 but he made his entry through Summer League in NBA. In the NBA Summer League, he was assigned to the Houston Rockets. After getting waived by the Rockets, he joined the Rio Grande Valley Vipers as a back-up player. He signed 10-day contracts with various teams including the Rockets, Sacramento Kings, and San Antonio Spurs.

In 2010, Garrett was signed by the San Antonio Spurs to play NBA Summer League. He was recalled by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers after getting waived by the Spurs and here again; he was traded to the Erie Bay-Hawks of Summer League.

In 2011, he signed a one-year deal with Novipiù Casale Monferrato of Italy to participate in League where he averaged 9.5 points with 2.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists each game.

His trading history has been so long ranging from the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Orlando Summer League to Cleveland Cavaliers for the Las Vegas Summer League, to the Miami Heat, Washington Wizards, Sacramento Kings, Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers and lastly to Brooklyn Nets in 2019 where he signed a two-year contract with the franchise.
