Franklin Willis Jackson

Franklin Willis Jackson is an American basketball player, born in Washington, D.C. He is a point guard playing for the New Orleans Pelicans of the NBA.

His career achievements include McDonald’s All-American honors, MVP of McDonald’s All-American Game, Jordan Brand Classic Tournament award, Nike Hoop Summit award, Mr. Basketball of Utah and many more.

Frank is born of Juleen Jackson and Alvin B. Jackson, Jr. Frank is the son of former Utah state parliamentarian and the second-oldest of his siblings. Frank also happens to be a member of a Church named the Latter-day Saints. His family belongs to the Afro-American ethnicity.

He has four siblings including three sisters and a brother. Frank shares a close bonding with his elder sister Marie Jackson. Other sisters are Kyla Jackson and Mary Alice Jackson.

Frank joined Lehi High School and while playing basketball, he averaged 17.9 points in his sophomore season. As a junior, he averaged 26.9 points and 4.5 rebounds each game and stole different state-level titles including Salt Lake Tribune state honors, Max-prep All-American, etc.

He participated in Adidas Uprising Gauntlet Tournament and recorded scoring 24 points with 2.7 assists per game.

In his senior season, Frank continued scoring high scores for the team and getting honored by various titles including Slam Dunk Competition, Mr. Basketball, etc. Considering his performances, he was ranked higher by websites like ESPN and Scout.com.

While playing for the Devils, he made his team unbeaten in his college career and his team reached ACC Tournament semi-finals but didn’t reach the finals. Through-out the Tournament, he performed marvelously and recorded scoring 10.9 points with 2.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

Frank hired an agency to enter NBA draft and he was picked by the Charlotte Hornets in NBA draft 2017 but was traded to New Orleans Pelicans.

He played in Summer League and his debut; he scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Frank made his NBA debut in 2018 as the Pelican’s season opener against the Houston Rockets and the Pelicans won the match with a huge margin.

In 2019, Frank grabbed career highest 17 points and launched three-pointers while playing against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Pelicans won the game. The same season, Frank uplifted his previous high score to 25 points with victory against the San Antonio Spurs.
