Ersan Ilyasova

Ersan Ilyasova is a Turkish basketball player, born in Eskişehir, Turkey. He is a power forward for the Milwaukee Bucks.

His greatest achievement includes Silver medal in FIBA World Championship in 2010 representing the National team of Turkey. Others include MVP of FIBA Europe U-20 championship, Albert Schweitzer Tournament award, and others.

Ersan is the son of Enver Ilyasova and Iraliye Ilyasova. He grew up with his only sister, Nelly Ilyasova and is very close to her. He is married to Julia Ilyasova, they have two daughters, Ksenia Ilyasova and Katherine Ilyasova and are living a happy life together.

Ersan joined Yeşilyurt in the Turkish Division II League and then immediately jumped into the Turkish Basketball League where he averaged 4.5 points with 3.2 rebounds in each game he played during the League.

Ersan hired an agency to step into the NBA draft. He was picked by the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA Draft 2005. He made his debut in the NBA Summer League and signed his first rookie contract with the franchise. He made a victorious debut against loss to the Detroit Pistons.

He was signed by the Tulsa 66ers in the NBA Development League, where he managed to get an average of 12.5 points with 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists each game.

In 2007, Ersan joined FC Barcelona in Liga ACB in Spain in a two-year contract and during his last season in 2009, he won a championship with Barcelona and Ersan was re-called by the Milwaukee Bucks the same year.

In 2011, Ersan played for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball League in a meanwhile when he rejoined the Bucks. Ersan recorded his career highest 29 points and 25 rebounds against the Nets in a regular game for the Bucks.

He became one of the top three players in franchise history to score more than 25 rebounds and points in a particular game after former players; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Swen Nater and he was awarded Player of the Week award for this performance.

In 2015, Ersan was traded to the Detroit Pistons and he made a remarkable debut with the loss to the Atlanta Hawks, scoring 16 points with 7 rebounds and 3 assists in that game.

The next season in 2016, Ersan was traded to the Orlando Magic and again he made a victorious debut with the loss to the Dallas Mavericks and he scored 16 points with 5 rebounds in it.

Following the same season, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder and he just played three games for the Thunder in that season.

He was waived by the franchise and he joined Philadelphia 76ers in 2017 and he made a good start for the new team. Again, the trading continued and he was moved to the Atlanta Hawks but soon he was waived by the Hawks.

In 2018, Ersan joined the Philadelphia 76ers and the same year again he joined the Bucks for the third time in his NBA career.
