He committed to NCAA by signing NLI, he played from the Bluejays and averaged 14.8 points with 7.2 rebounds each game during his university career. He made an MVC record of scoring the highest points as a newcomer in his junior season. McDermott didn’t avail the chance to enter NBA draft 2013 and continued his career as a junior.
