Dion Waiters is an American professional basketball player, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He plays as shooting guard for the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA. He belongs to Afro-American ethnicity.

He has been honored with NBA All-Rookie in 2013, Big East sixth man of the year and many more. Dion was also a highly ranked shooter in his school days. He was chosen by the Cleveland Cavaliers in NBA draft 2012.

Dion Waiters joined Life Center Academy AAU Basketball. He played college basketball and averaged 6.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists. During his sophomore season, his average got better ranging to 12.6 points, 2.5 assists with 2.3 rebounds. Dion made his professional debut from Cleveland Cavaliers with highly paid and ranked newcomer in the team. He scored highest 33 points against the Kings.

Dion made a good debut in Rising Stars Challenge and scored 31 points with 7.2 assists. Dion was traded to Oklahoma City Thunders in 2015, he made a very poor start scoring just 4 points in the debut game. While the season came to an end, his average was 9.8 points and 2.3 assists.

Dion was traded to the Heat in 2016 and he averaged 13.2 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists until the contract with the franchise ended.
