Derrick Walton Jr. is a professional basketball player born in Detroit, Michigan, who plays for Atlanta Hawks. He plays as a point guard. He was drafted by Miami Heat but was traded to Sioux Falls Skyforce then to Zalgiris, Alba Berlin, Los Angeles Clippers, Agua Caliente Clippers, the Michigan Wolverines and now is in Atlanta.

He has won awards including MVP of Big Ten Tournament, Gatorade player of the year in Michigan and few others.

He was struggling until his fourth year ended averaging 8 points each game being a point guard. But he tried hard and gave his best and led his team to the NCAA Tournament when his fellow junior and also senior suffered from an injury.

His performance was not reaching the expectations but satisfactory. He finished the junior season with 15.5 points, 5.2assists, 5.5 assists each game. His adroit performance includes match played against the following:

  • Minnesota scoring 29 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds

In 2017, Miami Heat picked Walton and his first game was against the Orlando Magic in NBA Summer League.
